Podcast #9: Ed Tech Talk Episode 148

In this episode of Ed Tech talk the guys talk to a school that went from ancient hard wired computers (less than 100) to a wireless school with one-on-one ipads, tons of laptops, and computers. They are using the 21C initiative as there blueprint. The schools are also using technology like smartboards in their classrooms. The students are using their tech for assignments, planning and some individual curriculum. The students are responsible for their ipads, and they are loving it. Students use their technology for text books, taking and organizing notes. Apple is helping the school with the transition and often make trips to the school to help them with their teacher development. The teachers are encouraged to explore all of their new tech; to find new things, even make mistakes so that they can learn to solve them. The school was funded through grants from the board. I absolutely love stories like this. Schools that are stuck in the dark and then they are able to bring their teachers, and students into the 21 century and can use tech to modify their classrooms and make learning new, fun and efficient.
